Huge old primitive hand carved wooden mortar. This beautiful old mortar originated from India where it would have originally been used by family's in the villages to grind coffee grain, herbs, etc. The mortar is hand carved from a single tree stump and has the most wonderful look and patina, which really shows its age and character. Ideal for use in the home or garden. These make a great display piece, planter, giant candle holder, etc.
The mortars are cleaned, treated, polished and waxed ready for use in the home.
The item is in used vintage condition and there may be some historic repairs, age related marks and wear and tear. Please be sure to check all photos as these form part of the description.
